GP Education

Ramsay has been a major provider of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) since 2000, offering education to general practitioners and the wider medical community across a variety of medical and surgical specialties. These activities are delivered in partnership with our specialists and other health care professionals as interactive, practical sessions with a focus on innovation, hands-on involvement, and practical tips.

CPD requirements set by the Medical Board of Australia require all medical professionals to have a CPD home and undertake 50 hours of CPD each year. Comprising of:

  • 12.5 hours Educational Activities (EA)
  • 25 hours combined Reviewing Performance (RP) and Measuring Outcomes (MO), with a minimum of 5 hours for each
  • 12.5 hours free choice across any 3 of the listed categories.

In addition to the RACGP requires Basic Life Support to be completed every 3 years.

Mr Adam Cichowitz is a highly trained specialist surgeon who offers a full range of general surgical procedures with a particular focus on keyhole surgery including laparoscopic anti-reflux and hernia suurgery, breast surgery, and endoscopy (gastroscopy and colonoscopy). 

He is actively involved in teaching and research. He is up to date with latest procedures, and techniques. Adam consults and operates in Wangaratta, Yarrawonga and Benalla.

Women's Health

Dr Amelia Bock, will discuss Women's Health in Benalla.

Amelia is an Obstetrician and Gynaeacologist who treats patients at Wangaratta private Hospital. Dr Bock graduated from Monash University in 2004 with honours. She completed her specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology at the Mercy Hospital for Women in Melbourne, before working in Box Hill, and the Royal Women's Hospitals.

In addition to her work at the Wangaratta Private Hospital, she is Supervisor of Training, Obstetrics, and Gynaecology at NorthEast Health Wangaratta.She has an interest in infertility, endometriosis, and laparoscopic pelvic surgery. She is passsionate about equitable rural women's health and enjoys seeing patients of all ages.

Dr Bock also teaches medical students at The University of Melbourne.She has lived in the region for more than 10 years.
